Legs
Today I started to build the legs. I did a template out of left over styrene. Tomorrow I will start to figure out how to match the thickness of blueprints for plywoods, because I have them in 20mm.

Cylinder Ankle Experiment
OK, today I went to the main local hardware store (like Home Depot) to see if I can get a PVC cylinder to do the Cylinder Ankle. I found a PVC pipe 2mm bigger than blueprints specifications but I took it for practicing. Here is what I did in my first attempt.

I cut the PVC pipe, marked the thin lines and sanded down the edges. With a cutter and a lot of effort I removed the center. I think that the next one it will be more accurate to blueprints. And after painting it should looks well.

Sanding the Dome
Plywood for legs!
Octagon Ports
Update: I sanded down the first Octagon Port to glue the center circles. Tomorrow I will upload it finished.

The black nail file retires, it was the first one and lasted enough!

Yesterday I'been doing the Octagon Ports, using the outer/inner skin cuts, and some styrene bought locally. I did two, I'm not happy with the first one, inner cuts are too thin. The second one is more accurate according to Blueprints :-)
Still I need to sand them and to glue all parts together, it took me almost all the weekend along with Dome sanding, but it worth it!

Sanding Rockler Bearing
Following CuriousMarc's instructions but with local tools, I sanded and polished the Rockler Bearing. It tooks some time and effort but it works!

Side Vents
Today I did both Side Vents. Over here I can't find Styrene so I bought something similar, on one side is the same texture of Styrene and the other side is Acrylic, I don't know how it is called but is harder to cut than the Styrene.

I also finished the three Coin Returns and the two Pocket Vents, I will post it once dry.

Front and Rear Pocket Vents
I finished the Rear Vent as well. I know, it is not perfect and seems to be done by a kid, but It was my first attempt with glue and the little tiny strips! After this, I started to cut the thin strips for the Front Vent, glued and also did the bottom rectangle.

To draw the Radius I made this tool of what it left of the skins cuts to obtain the Radius because I still haven't receive my COM 8B Frame. :-).

More skin cutting
Today I finished cutting front and rear inner/outer skins, and rear panels. But I still have to cut some front inner/outer as I don't know yet how many doors there will be.

Also I did the Pocket Side Vents out from the outer front skin.

As some cuts seems to be made by a child and not by me, I decided to give to my R2D2 the dirty looking ;-)

Cutting skins out
Today I started to cut out Chani's Skins. Firt cut was the Front Outer skin, followed by the Rear Outer. But I still haven't receive James' COM 8B Frame so I will wait until I get it to continue cutting out the rest of the skins, to line them up with the frame. I'm thinking about making some front doors but not decided it yet.
I used a regular cutter. The first cut was the Coin Slot and it was awful, first experience cutting this kind of stuff, but after a while I found a better way to do it, smoothly, cutting all the way down on one side, marking with the cutter the other sides to rip the part off easily.
